Pretious Sports Hall – Our Site

The impressive 1 million pound sports hall on the site of Northiam C of E Primary School was funded by contributions from the Big Lottery, Rother District Council, East Sussex County Council Children’s Services and a local community sports group called the Pretious Sports Hall Project Group.

Opened in September 2007 the sports hall is for both the community and school use and is open and available for hire throughout the whole year.

The community element of the sports hall is managed by the school that brings together the various partners in its development; the school, Rother District Council, Northiam Parish Council, the Northiam Sport and Play Partnership and East Sussex County Council.

The sports hall is also used by the school and other schools in the East Sussex cluster of Primary Schools throughout the school day as part of the PE and sports curriculum and thereby ensuring that each pupil receives 2 hours of high quality curriculum PE each week as well as a host of inter school activities and tournaments. After school, during weekday term time, there are a number of school sports clubs such as football and rugby that are run between 3.30pm and 5.30pm.

Diocese of Chichester Academy Trust

We exist to provide a first-class option for schools choosing to become an academy. We currently have twenty two schools making up our Trust, each maintaining its own unique character and identity, serving its own distinct community.
