Getting to know the letter 'M'

It has been a truly magical week at Honeybees! The letter ‘M’ has taken centre stage, sparking curiosity, wonder, and plenty of hands-on discovery.

Our week began by looking up at the sky. We have been absolutely fascinated by ‘M’ for Moon. The children have been absorbing incredible facts about our celestial neighbour, from its craters to its phases. This lunar deep-dive has been the perfect springboard for our upcoming Space topic next half-term—the classroom is already buzzing with questions about astronauts and rocket ships!

In Science, we continued our ‘M’ theme by exploring ‘M’ for Magnetic. We turned the classroom into an experiment lab, testing various objects to see which ones would stick to our magnets. The highlight was definitely our ‘Floating Butterflies’ activity; the children were mesmerized watching their paper creations flutter through the air as if by magic, guided by the hidden pull of magnetic force.

Beyond our themes, the classroom has been filled with the gentle chirping of our new additions. Our chicks, who hatched just last week, are growing up so fast! It has been heart-warming to see the children’s confidence grow alongside them. They have been so gentle and caring, and we’ve all thoroughly enjoyed the quiet, special moments spent holding our feathered friends.
