Dandelions, Digits, and the Letter 'Z' - A Buzzing Week at Honeybees Preschool!

It's been another week filled with exploration and discovery at Honeybees Preschool! This week, our little learners have been diving deep into the world of dandelions, honing their math skills, and mastering a brand new sound in literacy.

Our dandelion investigation continued with a fascinating look at the dandelion lifecycle, from bright yellow flower to fluffy seed head. The children embraced their inner artists, creating beautiful dandelion paint and engaging in the vibrant art form of dandelion Hapa Zome, all after a fun-filled dandelion hunt across the preschool grounds.

In the realm of mathematics, we've been focusing on the numbers between five and ten. The children practiced ordering these numbers and even got creative in constructing them using a variety of natural resources found in our outdoor area – a fantastic way to learn through hands-on experience!

Our literacy focus for the week was the exciting new sound 'z'. We had a blast playing "What's in the Box" with mystery objects that all started with the letter 'z', sparking curiosity and building vocabulary in a playful and engaging way.

Looking Forward: Bee-utiful Bees for National Bee Week!

Next week promises to be just as buzzing with excitement as we celebrate World Bee Day! We'll be exploring the fascinating world of bees, learning about their vital role in our ecosystem, and delving into their amazing lifecycle. Of course, no bee exploration would be complete without some honey-themed activities!

As part of our World Bee Day celebration, we're embarking on a DT project to create bee houses for our outdoor area, providing a safe and welcoming habitat for these important pollinators. We're reaching out to our wonderful Honeybees community for donations of bamboo canes (which we will cut up) and empty tin cans. Your contributions will greatly support this exciting project and help us create a bee-friendly environment!
