Chestnut Science Centre Visit – A Stellar Success!
This week has been full of exciting learning across the curriculum!
In Maths, we have been working hard on our 3, 6 and 9 times tables, using games and activities to help us build speed and confidence.
In English, we continued exploring Varjak Paw. The children particularly enjoyed writing letters to Varjak himself, asking him all about his adventures and sharing some ideas of their own.
In DT, we began planning our own torch designs. We looked at examples to decide what works well and what doesn’t, and started sketching ideas for our own creations.
In RE, Arabella did a fantastic job teaching the class about sin and why making the right choices is important — well done, Arabella!
To finish our week, we went on a wonderful trip. We visited the Observatory Science Centre at Herstmonceux, it was an incredible experience for everyone involved. The children explored the fascinating world of light and discovered how it travels and bends, creating the colors we see every day. They also learned about telescopes and how these amazing instruments allow us to observe distant stars and planets.
Hands-on activities and interactive exhibits made the day both educational and fun, sparking curiosity about the wonders of science and space. A big thank you to the staff at the Science Centre for making our visit so memorable!
A huge thank you from Miss Benhamou, to Mrs Mewett, Troy, Tim, Lydia and Abbie for their fantastic help on the trip.
