A Week of Wriggles, Reads, and Roads: Adventures at Honeybees!

This week at Honeybees, our little learners embarked on a fascinating journey, blending nature exploration with exciting literary and artistic adventures. Our classrooms buzzed with curiosity as we delved into the wonderful world of worms and then shifted gears to explore the rhythmic world of vehicles!

Our exploration kicked off with a deep dive into the wondrous world of worms! The catchy tune of "There's a worm at the bottom of my garden" filled our classroom with joyful singing, becoming an instant favourite. Children eagerly became soil scientists, gently sifting through earth to discover and count our wriggly friends hidden beneath the soil. This hands-on activity not only fostered a love for nature but also strengthened early numeracy skills as they counted each new discovery. The imaginative tale of "Superworm" further captivated us, sparking discussions about their important role in our gardens and inspiring awe for these incredible creatures.

But the learning didn't stop in the garden! Our beloved story time brought us to the rhythmic pages of "Car Car Truck Jeep." This vibrant read ignited a flurry of creativity, inspiring fantastic tire track inspired printing and pattern exploration. Little hands dipped toy vehicles into paint, creating unique patterns and designs across large sheets of paper. It was a wonderful way to connect literacy with artistic expression, developing fine motor skills and an understanding of repeating patterns through a fun, messy, and engaging activity.
