Class Teacher: Miss Samantha Mewett
Teaching Assistant: Mrs Nuala Denham
Welcome to Oak class!
We are a Year 1 and 2 class, we work carefully to ensure work is differentiated to allow for differences in age, ability and experience. Children in Year 2 are statutorily assessed, using the National Curriculum tasks and tests to support teacher assessment; these results are reported to parents.
Our Autumn term 1 topic is…….
Tell me a story
We will be deciding who the greatest history maker is by looking at different historians such as Guy Fawkes, Malala Yousafzai, Margret Thatcher and Marie Curie. .Please see the topic map below to find out more about what we will be learning this term.
Reading
Children will be given a reading book to take home and read with their grown-up. Books will be changed once an adult has signed their reading record and books have been placed in our class reading baskets.
It is important to read with your child daily as it will continue to support their development in reading and writing. Please see the ‘reading comprehension’ link for questions to ask your child about the book they are reading
